Cancelled

The one thing I hate about cross training is that you are so dependent on schedules and others to get the workout in…  Well, not always, but in the case of the YMCA, this is so.

Morning dawned and I was still happily snoozing in my cozy bed.  Kevin had been snoring most of the night (He has a cold), so the extra shut eye was oh so lovely.  I meant to go down and watch all the pinkness running by down at the beach for the She is Beautiful 5K and 10K, but I didn't.  I slept.

When I got up, I drank my cup of Joe and dutifully put on my workout clothes to do my strength exercises that will release me from this prison of not running in pain sooner or later.  Right now it seems like forever.  I wanted to head to the YMCA for a 10:15 spin class, but the tug of the heart pulled me to church with my family instead…. Besides…. "I can go to the 4:15 spin class instead," I told myself.

The day commenced with the goal to sweat it out at 4:15…. only to have CLASS CANCELLED!  What?!  Ugh… I tried to do the elliptical contraption that I so very much HATE only to have my knees say, "Excuse me, but you must be doing this machine wrong because we hurt and will make you miserable tomorrow if you continue…"  So, I listened and I stopped and hopped instead on one of those Cybex bikes.  Ugh… no me gust tambien.   But, the body seemed happy and the sweat was pouring and the heart rate was elevated for 60 minutes.  Gosh it felt like a lot of work.

If you have read this far, I am sorry to bore you.  I am sure you can relate.  Tomorrow I will try again for a spin class and Tuesday I try for the pool all before school.  Let's hope the others and the schedules and the gosh knows what else doesn't mess with it all.  I think I can make to to maybe Wednesday without a run…. Crossing my fingers the Y cooperates.  I am hopeful.
