Tomorrow is the first day of a 6 day marathon in room 7 . The training is done. The practice completed. Is the retention there? Do they have the stamina to pull through? Some will and some, unfortunately, will not have a good test.
As head coach my final pep talk today ended with, "You can do it if you are willing to work for it." I hope they all have the perfect race (test) experience, but I have to know that the work was done to make it happen regardless. I have to remember that it doesn't come down to one test. I have to value and focus on all the life learning.
I am ready for the after party when learning really gets meaningful and fun! I am in this for life longer learners. Good test scores are great, but they aren's everything.
Go Team McKee!!!!! We have worked so hard for this.
Week One: Language Arts completed with no absences! Those kids circled clue words, wrote their ABC's to help them alphabetize, underlined and bubbled like scholars. I am a proud teacher who tried not see see the questions or the ones they may have gotten wrong. They gave it their best on a test and nothing less.
ReplyDeleteTuesday - Thursday is math. Most will do VERY well. Many have the potential to get 100% correct. Unfortunately, a few will be totally overwhelmed by the quantity no matter how much we have reviewed or reminded them to take their time... Sigh.
