Honesty

On Wednesday I rolled out of bed, ran a quick 6, showered, and headed to school wearing a ponytail, jeans, and my black Tiger shirt.   While reading a book about a 94 year old woman with my "blue"group, I mentioned that I am 100 years old... just to keep the conversation lively.  One little girl said, "No you aren't.  You are 47! "

Then little boy said, "Really?  I think you look more like 58! " 

My response was..... "Really... Wow... I can take it, but for future reference you might not want to guess an old lady's age as 11 years older than she really is." 

You know what that cute little guy muttered under his breath?  " Well, all you need to do is wear some make up or something...."

This is why I teach.  I love children.  They are so honest.  Love, LOVE, Love it.  

Today?  I wore my hair down and made sure not to wear black.  Two adults actually stopped me in the hall to tell me how great I looked today.  The kid didn't say anything.  That's cool.  I can deal.
